their Euro 2012 group stage clash.
The former AC Milan and Hamburg SV striker claimed that Die Mannschaft want to play against the top teams in their upcoming clashes. The national side defeated the Flying Dutchmen 2-1 in their last meeting in the summers as they
were knocked out from the groups.
The former Germany international insisted that Louis van Gaal’s side will be looking forward to get even with them after the European encounter. He suggested that he is excited by the forthcoming game, and added that the two nations
share a huge rivalry.
"I am looking forward to the match. It will not have the character of typical friendly matches; the rivalry is too strong for that. The Dutch are likely to be concerned about getting revenge for the Euros," he was quoted as saying
in an interview.
The 44-year-old also appreciated the Dutch team, and stressed that Die Nationalelf will only get better if they play against the best teams in the world. He conceded that the Oranje have a top-quality side and will pose a significant
threat for the national team.

"Netherlands are an important and strong opponent. Regarding planning for the season, we intend to face opponents like them often,” he mused.

"We want to end this year in good fashion and win this prestigious duel here in Netherlands. It is important to be tested like that," he finally concluded.
Bierhoff revealed that they are trying to plan good fixtures for Germany, and will probably face world-class teams like Netherlands in the near future. He further added that Die Mannschaft want to end 2012 on a decent note and
win this important clash. He said it is vital to play sides likes these in order to improve as a team.
