I've had glasses since i was 8. Ive worn them all the time since 9. My prescription is now-5.00 in left and -7.00 in my right. If I take off my glasses I cant see the keyboard (4-6 in away) let alone the sceen I have severe dry eyes and cant get contacts. I was told I am also now farsighted. I beleive it is +4.00. So, I need to get bifocals. Is this by anyway normal. Do you know people like this (Children, friends, patients you) and can you suggest frames (with pictures please) That could make the thickness I currently have theese two pairs

  1. Bifocals at your age is pretty unusual, but if you need them, get them. They are for people who have their eye's lens removed for cataracts, or whose lens is inflexible due to age, mostly.

I like the second frame style better.

  2. We need glasses. !!!!!!!!! The first thing I do when I get up and the last thing I do when I go to bed. Be lost with out them. I am assuming you have meds for the dry eye. Use them when needed. As far as bi focal, I like the progressive ones. They are not so detectable. I didn't have a problem getting used to them either  I  have worn glasses since I was 10. Don't worry to much. You got glasses, your good. Ask your eye doctor to explain any questions you might have.
