hey guys. just about to do the big 3 upgrade and have a quick question. for the engine ground to chassis wire, is it alright just to run a wire from a mounting bolt on the alternator (not the B terminal going to the battery) to the chassis?

Also, if I cant reach the mounting bolt, can I find any bolt that is attached to the engine and ground it to the chassis? Is that as effective. thanks in advance.

  1. like moneymanj has pointed out all you have to do is find a bolt that is easily accesible and can easily be connected to a sturdy chassis area!!! i've got mine connected to a brace bolt on the side of my block which goes straight across to the chassis... aswell as this the guage of the wire should be as thick if not thicker then ur power wire to ur amp...

  2. Any bolt that is threaded into a solid chunk of metal should be good...and be sure to use good heavy gauge wire....I really like using the replacement battery cables that autozone sells...they come in different lengths and black or red with a ring on the end

Oh yeah, wherever you ground to the body be sure and remove the paint and primer from the surface the ring will be contacting ...it helps transfer the power better
