Big Bang Theory Question?

Question

Do you think there could have been more then one of these events in the universes history? Could the universe be a result of many(more then 1) Big Bangs? Also I read about how they think the universe will collapse back upon itself. If that happens, do you think it is possible for another Big Bang to create another universe to take this universes spot?

The question is irrelevant because there is no way we can ever know if there have been one, two, or millions of previous universes.  It was their destruction that resulted in the creation of this one.

Also, the prevailing theory right now is that the universe is going to expand endlessly, not collapse.  There is not enough matter to gravitationally slow the expansion.

There are a lot of theories being studied by physicists about our universe.  What we think we know today is that there is not enough matter and energy to cause the universe to collapse into a Big Crunch.  It appears that the universe will go on forever and in many trillions of years will turn dark.

But there are many other ideas out there that could possibly save our universe from extinction.  Here is an interesting web site that explores these ideas.

Yes there may have been many other big bangs. Our Universe may be one of many.

It may collapse, if and when it stops expanding and gravity takes over. But it may also expand forever and our universe will become a cold and lonely place, as all the stars will use their energy and burn out.
