Big Bash League Final – Sydney Sixers crowed inaugural Winners
The Sydney Sixers romped over Perth Scorchers to win the inaugural KFC Big Bash League final – triumphing by an easy seven wickets with more than an over to spare.
Considering the form of both sides, Scorchers were firm, if not overwhelming, favourites to claim their first success in over a decade on their home turf at WACA. Instead they fell short through an all round performance from their opponents where Brett Lee’s
initial good work was capitalized by the batters in helping the Sixers to emerge convincing victorious.

– falling off Lee’s first over.

The Scorcher’s captain, along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PD-Collingwood-c2173 gathered considerable pace, where the former thrashed humongous sixes
to help his side post a healthy 156.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Simon-James-Marshall-c90362’s innings of 77, which included five fours and 4 sixes, brought his team back into the contest as the responsibility now rested on the Perth bowling unit to keep down the Sixers.
However, they faltered badly against the opening pairing of Moises Henrique and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harold-William-Stephenson-c61707 O’ Keefe, with both adding a game changing 110 in 12 overs.
Henrique was the aggressor, playing a match winning knock of 70, leaving the others little work thereafter. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nic-Maddinson-c79322 (10) and Keefe ( 48) departed in quick succession to cause an initial hitch but stand in skipper, Steven Smith’s unbeaten cameo of 21
from 11 ensured that his team was crowned the inaugural champions.
The only bowler to impress was veteran spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/George-Bradley-Hogg-c59047 (1-29) but the Scorchers stumbled under pressure to leave a packed home ground disappointed.
