Big Brown's performance in the Derby!?

I really loved Big Brown's performance in the Derby. He showed great ability to break from the 20 post position and still win by a couple of lengths. Sad, though, that Eight Belles had to be euthanized. Tragedy. RIP EIGHT BELLES

  1. Loved it, he's a freak. I'm still reeling about Eight Belles.  As for Big Brown, I remember saying before the Florida Derby that if he won that, he must be something special.  Then I managed to talk myself out of including him in my Derby superfecta bet, swinging for the fences and all and discounting what I already knew of him to be true.  Oh well.  I'm sure that as long as he stays sound over the next couple of weeks, he'll have no problems in the Preakness.  I don't really see a Bernardini type of late starter lurking out there (who I believe would have given Barbaro a run for his money if he hadn't been injured).  But the Belmont -- all of these other guys will come back swinging after 5 weeks rest.   I'm sure he has the talent to put away those challengers on his best day, even considering he's pushing the limits of his pedigree, but I can't imagine a horse with already fragile feet being 100% coming out of the Preakness and ready to run a marathon 3 wks later.  But if I'm wrong about that, I can't wait to be there for the win!

  2. i know i was kinda laughing lol

  3. I know! I was so happy for him! He made history today.

Then I was so excited but then when I heard Eight Belles, it got me out of my happy mood. =(

    May she rest in peace.
