Big Brown House Spider!

Question

My room and only my room has been invaded by huge brown spiders! I'm terribly afraid of spiders big and small. I so afraid of them that i can't even get close enough to kill them. Although, i'm trying to figure out what kind of spider it is so i know how to get rid of them. I tried looking on the internet for descriptions of them instead of pictures. I CANNOT LOOK AT PICTURES OF THESE THINGS! That's why it's a little hard to figure out what kind of spider i have invading my room. All i can say about them (from a very far distance) is that they are brown with velvet fur. The body is not round at all. It is like a skinny oval with a point at the end. The smaller ones i've encountered are the size of a quarter. I don't even want to talk about the biggest one i saw the other day. How i've been getting rid of them is by my dad and he's gotten rid of the monsters by putting them under my plastic cd tower cover and taking them outside. He's done this 16 times and i really don't want to hit 20. Can anyone identify what kind of spider i have? Any home remedies to get rid of them other than an exterminator?

What typpe of spider it is depends on where you live, but sounds like a wolf spider (Usually found by fields -  I get lots in winter)

Ionizers tend to work, and you can get spider repellers which send out a high pitched frequency to warn them away, which can easily be brought from Amazon and Argos!

Uh, my best suggestion to you is to tell your dad to STOP putting them back outside and KILL THEM!  They are just going to get back inside.

I wish I could help you out with identifying them honey but I feel the same way and can't possibly look at pics of them either!!!

I would go to home depot and buy a fogger that is designed to kill spiders.  It is a can of bug killer that when activated will release a cloud of fog that will get into every inch of your room.  You activate it and leave the room for a few hours, can't have any pets in the room either and make sure you shut the door.  This should solve the problem.

It might be a wolf spider.  Have your dad buy a can of raid (or whichever spray kills spiders) then you can just squirt the next one you see.
