Big Fan following for the 17-year-old Beau Hossler

Beau Hossler was a familiar name at the Congressional Golf and Country Club, following his performance at this year’s US Open.
When the AT&T National tournament teed off, many people were on their way just to see the youngster. Hossler surprised everybody at the US Open and people were expecting a similar kind of performance from him at the upcoming tournaments.
In the hot conditions, at the AT&T National, Hossler shot a par score. This was not a bad result, considering that he was one shot better than Woods and a shot behind Hunter Mahan.
Where ever Hossler went on the course, there was a large crowd chasing him. Hossler had few troubled moments but he managed to pull himself out.
“I do not know what the reason was, the weather, the breeze,” said Bill Schellenberg, Hossler’s caddie. “We will get a handle on it”.
Hossler’s drives were phenomenal. Most of the times, he used to hit the approach shots a little too overboard. This tendency needs to be curbed, especially when the greens are sloped from back to front.
Although Hossler was four shots adrift of the leader Bo Van Pelt, his team believed that he will improve as the event moves on.
“He is gaining the experience,” said Amy Balsz, Hossler’s mother. “He is fine with everything going on around him”.
Jordan Spieth is another amateur who was participating in the event. Later, Jordan was also Hossler’s team partner at the University of Texas.
Spieth shot a 75 and was tied for the 76th place. He will be looking to improve his standing after the end of round two.
When asked about playing with Hossler he said, “We get along great,” Spieth said. “I helped sell him on Texas”.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods found it tough on the first day. He shot 1-over 72. The defending champion Nick Watney and Hunter Mahan both shot 1-under to finish round one at 70.
The surprise leader Bo Van Pelt said that it was extremely difficult to hit fairly, as the golf course is very difficult.
At that time, Pelt was leading the AT&T National by one stroke at the top. He finished his round with 4-under-par.
