Big Gud seeking out big win in the Truframe Greyhound Stud Book Trophy 2012 Heat 3
Monmore will become home for the Truframe Greyhound Stud Book Trophy 2012 Heat 3 over 480 metres flat on Thursday, 31st May. Ready for the £175 challenge are Romeo Energy, Redbrick Droopy, Westmead Adonis, Questhousesavana, Monaghan Jack and Big Gud.
Leading with the one of the most appealing credentials for the race is Big Gud, Daves Mentor’s two-year-old white and black son out of b***h, Simple Pleasure. He cracked into the new season on 10th February and claimed the seasonal debut.
The two-year-old took 16.09 seconds to settle a 264 metres race at Monmore and led the runner up, Beauvais Belle, by a length.
He then went on to monopolise the very next race too. On 14th February it took him 29.67 seconds to cover the 480 metres at Monmore. Finishing the closest after leaping through the three lengths by which the winner led was, Driving Force.
Combining the dual wins with the success in the final race of the previous season, Big Gud struck a hat trick.
On 10th March he won a Grade A5 480 metres flat race at Monmore by timing the track distance in 28.93 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Stagedoor Liam, by just half a length.
The runner up concluded the distance in 28.97 seconds. Coming at terms with the third position was Ardera Melba.
Out of the three times that he had raced during May, Big Gud claimed two of the starts. He won a Grade A4 480 metres flat race at Monmore on 12th May by reaching the other end of the wire in 28.66 seconds. The 2/1 favourite winner of the race led the runner up, Ferdia Pegasus, by three lengths.
Settling third behind the winner after racing for 29.16 seconds was Recession Cuts.
His till yet final success of the season was in the Ladbrokes.Com 480 British Bred – Division 2 on 26th May at Monmore over 480 metres. He was through the track distance in 28.76 seconds and dodged the 6/4 favourite of the race, Cerrise, by 1 ¼ lengths.
His unpredictable manner of claiming the races gives him the edge over the chances of winning the race today.
