Big Hairy Spider by your foot?

Question

A massive big black hairy spider has just run past my foot. My question is....how many of you have just looked around for a spider or lifted your feet off the floor having read this?

No - but boy do memories come flooding in.  I live by water and in the countryside and I could put saddles on some of them.   The stuff of nightmares!

That scared me. I saw a big ole scary spider last night after I turned the lights off. We have Wolf Spiders out here that are GINORMOUS!!

I didn't - in the summer I help children find and identify minibeasts, so at the moment I see spiders and other arachnids most working days, and am now happy to have them walk on me (UK, no native dangerous ones!)

I actually held a tarantula for the first time the other day - I HATE spiders! But actually, I now find them less scary than house spiders. Sure, they're venomous, but they are so placid and move quite slowly compared to those horrible house spiders which scuttle past you at the speed of light!! Eugh!!

I did look...because i am terrified.....i got bit by the smallest of spiders last year....it was on my foot in the car and bit me I needed antibiotics and cream I think my dr thought i was mad

I am NOT afraid of spiders, and they are quite welcome in my house right now, because it is HOT and to get this place cool enough, I have to open my balcony door (which has a screen) and my bedroom window, which doesn't have a screen and can't be screened.  We get TONS of small flying insects, and they invariably want to land on my husband and I when we sleep (naked) at night.  So, if you have a big hary (or not hairy) spider, you can tell it to come to my house ... I already have some nice cobwebs and they can make bigger and better ones and have FEASTS on those flying insects.  BOTH my feet stayed on the floor, and they are BARE and I have a dress on ... and I didn't 'look' because I haven't seen any spiders since last summer!

not me. I share my house with a few big hairy spiders. I call them all Boris. they kill flies. job done. Hubby probably would have lifted his foot though, he doesn't like them much
