Question:

Big Letters overlap in Powerpoint?

I have a few fonts I've downloaded and added to my computer. However, on some of these (not all), the letters overlap when I make them too big in Powerpoint (upwards above 72 pt). They don't do this in Microsoft Word, only Powerpoint. Is there any way of fixing this?

  1. Oh you've found the evil bug (I assume this is in Powerpoint 2007). First, try updating your software. Microsoft acknowledged the problem and was supposed to get it fixed. I'm not sure if it has been yet.

I was able to define the problem through the process of elimination - then I could look it up. Notice - it is ONLY happening with Opentype fonts. It does NOT happen with Truetype.

So the quick fixes are: use a different font, see if the same font comes as a ttf, or get a font conversion software to make your font a ttf.

P.S. If you happen to find that the newest service pack fixes your problem, could you please report back.
