  1. Do you mean you had teeth taken out to make room for braces to fix your other teeth?

If so, you'll be eating again normally within a week at the most. It's normal to be in some discomfort for a few days after extraction. Rinse your mouth gently with salt water to help heal the sockets, and stick to soft food like pasta until the pain has gone. You could also take some paracetamol or ibuprofen 1/2 hour before eating.

  2. First of all the teeth don't taste, your tongue does. Sorry your in a predicament, but you shouldn't have to wait a year without your new teeth.

  3. Ouuch.

Visit a Doctorr and see if they can help.

We MAY be the experts, Lol.

    But a doctor Could Help.

Face, To Face, i mean. :)

  4. you can't go that long without food. If you had to, then your dentist would have told you alternative ways to get all the vits minerals and caloric intake needed everyday.  You will find something that you can eat. If your unsure, go back to your dentist!

    Good luck!

  5. You say you can't eat any soups or ice cream for the next year.  This sounds extreme, and unreasonable.  It usually takes a month to six weeks for the trauma to your mouth to fully heal.  I would speak to your oral surgeon once more - perhaps the flurry of activity during your operation caused you to misinterpret your mouth-care instructions.  As far as tasting, you may have had a temporary swelling reaction to the anesthesia - which is common - and your full taste facilities should return within the week.  Treat your mouth gently, and your healing should be speedy.  Have a healthy and happy leap year!
