Big Three combine for 86 as Miami Heat burn Toronto Raptors 113-101 - NBA Recap
Coming off from a dominating performance against the NBA Champions, Dallas Mavericks the previous night, Miami Heat took all of that momentum with them as they visited the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade stayed on song putting up another spectacular performance with 30 points each to lead the Miami Heat past the Toronto Raptors 113-101 on Friday. LeBron James also dropped 26 as the big three of Miami
combined together for 86 points.
Heat, this season, have been struggling on the road but tonight, they came out very strong from the get go. Starting the game of with a 10-0 run, Miami looked like they were ready to put their road failures behind and dominate
their opponents as the title contenders they actually are, on the road as well.
It was all one way traffic at the start of the first quarter. Midway through it however, the Raptors finally started making some ‘real’ effort to get back into the game. Behind DeMar DeRozan, they were able to cut the lead down
to 4 points, ending the first quarter with a score line of 31-27.
DeRozan had 10 points for the home team. From Miami`s side, Chris Bosh had 10 points as well at the end of the first period.
The second quarter was a very closely contested affair. The home support was very obvious for the Raptors as they were able to take the lead 41-39 on a reverse lay-up by DeRozan with 6:23 remaining to the half. The team from South
Beach was trying to improve their away record and they were not going to give up that easy. Behind LeBron`s 14 points in the first half, Miami were able to get back ahead with an 8 point lead at the half way mark (59-51).
At the beginning of the second half, it was the ‘big three’ show as they ran the Miami offence like clockwork. With assists being dished out here and there, Miami opened the second half with two spectacular dunks. LeBron and Bosh
were attacking the rim early, both of them getting assists from Wade.
Dwyane was also into the act with 15 points of his own at the start of the third quarter. But the home team were not going to give up their home advantage that easy. Behind Andrea Bargnani who contributed 22 points and DeMar DeRozan
who also chipped in 22, the Raps rallied and tied the game 83-all after three. Jose Calderon had a very important role in this comeback as he dished out 13 assists by the end of the third period.
The stage was all set for the ‘big three’ at the start of the fourth. The score`s were all tied going into the last 12 minutes and the triple threat of James, Wade and Bosh did not disappoint at all, putting up a very good performance
- scoring 27 of Miami`s 30 points in the period – as  Miami were able to outscore Toronto 30-18 and seal the game emphatically.
Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh had 30 each, LeBron had 26. The Big Three outscored their own team mates 86-27. Mario Chalmers had 14 of those. DeRozan and Bargnani had 28 and 27 points for the Raptors respectively as they were unable
to contain the Miami Heat, losing this one at home with a score line of 101-113.
