“Big Three” strike again as Miami Heat devastate Cleveland Cavaliers 111-87 – NBA Recap
As expected, Cleveland Cavaliers couldn’t stand the heat of “Big Three” and Miami Heat devastated the Cleveland Cavaliers 111-87 on their turf at Quicken Loans Arena.
Led by the two times NBA MVP LeBron James thrilling performance, Heat banked their 24th victory of the season. James netted a game high 28 points in 30 minutes while Dwyane Wade had 22 points and 6 boards. Forward Chris
Bosh shined with a double-double display as he scored 16 and had 12 rebounds.
Mario Chalmers recorded 14 while reserve Norris Cole came up with 10 points in this 12th road win for Miami.
Miami had a good shooting night as they hit 50.6% from the floor and netted 85.0% from the free throw line, they completely owned the game with zero ties and no lead changes. The Heat were precise with their 3-point shooting as
they connected on 14 of 21(66.7%).
Miami opened the game with a huge 21-2 run and faced no problem in adding 14 more points while the away side could only score 12 more points by the end of 1st quarter. Wade netted 11 in the opening frame while Chalmers
and James had 9 apiece for Heat.
Cavs couldn’t do much in the 2nd period as well. Their defence stood helpless in front of Cole and Wade who had 8 and 7 points respectively in this stanza. Miami capped of the segment with a 15-11 run that augmented
their lead to 63-38.
Miami kept on pushing Cleveland to the edge in 3rd quarter as well and stretched their lead further with a huge 20-10 run that placed the scores at 83-51.
The hapless Cavs tried to narrow the margin with a 16-7 run that clearly couldn’t suffice to make any difference. Heat proceeded towards the final stanza comfortably with a 90-67 lead.
The game’s fate was decided much earlier but Heat went on rubbing salt to the Cavaliers wounds in the final quarter as well.
With 08:53 to go Miami were leading with 95-73, paced by 2 freebies from Hollins Cavs went for a 5-2 run that helped them to reduce the deficit at 97-78. With a 3-pointer from Battier and a jump shot from Bosh, Heat crossed the
hundred point’s marker, 102-78.
Cleveland still had some fight left in them as they attempted another 7-0 run reducing their defeat margin to 102-87.
James Jones shot the lights out for Cavs, by dropping two consecutive 3-pointers and a flurry of freebies at the end of 4th quarter.
Cavs embraced one of the seasons worst defeat as the time expired, final score Heat 111-85.
Rookie Kyrie Irving was the top scorer in the game for Cleveland as he netted 17 while Ramon Sessions had 15, forward Antawn Jamison recorded 13 and reserve Tristan Thompson netted 12.
