  1. try getting pest patrol and spybot. different ones have different lists. Also Microsoft Messenger is famous for these things. Disable it. Google "disable messenger" cause its too long to explain here.

  2. That is a very common virus, it is called Smitfraud-C, it often comes from spysheriff varients, just google smitfraud fix and download the tool, run the tool in safe mode and it will repair everything.

  3. try doing the scan in safe mode, and also turn off system restore during the scan, be sure to turn it on again though, you should also consider doing an online virus scan such as Trend Micro Housecall ect., Good luck.

  4. Seems like you have a very serious virus.

No matter what you do, its probably going to still be there.

I would just go ahead and reinstall windows and start fresh so you can rest assured that you are safe.

If you do, make sure you immediatly protect your computer with a great antivirus system.

Here is 90 days of norton 360 you can use.

  5. I had something similar happen to me once. I was able to get rid of the spyware that put the message on my desktop by manually deleting the files associated with it but I was unable to figure out how it was placing the image on my screen. In the end I simply made a new user on my computer and transferred all of my stuff over to it and then deleted the old user and everything has been back to normal since. Other than that you can always do a clean sweep of your comp and reinstall your OS.

Here is how if you don't already know:

All you need are the Operating System disks that came with the computer.

Make sure you have everything that you need to save off the computer and on to some sort of storage device. (Burned CD, USB Drive) Then insert the OS disk and restart the computer booting from the disk drive. The computer will walk you through the setup from here and the process will restore your computer to it's original state when you bought it.

    Good Luck.
