  1. 120db

    Deafening

ex:Riveter, chipper, thunder, diesel engine room, fireworks display

130db is the threshold of pain and cause immediate ear damage.

  2. 119.5 is not that loud...i wouldn't worry

  3. i have been into sounds for years and listen to it up all the time. i dont know exactly how bad it is for you but i know after 9 years of them i havent had any problems with my hearing

  4. I have played in a band doing small to medium venues for five years and recently got into car audio and am running about 500 watts rms just to my interior speakers and custom speaker boxes in the car and let me tell you my hearing is already being affected. but like the other guy said he is fine after many years so like most questions of the human body the answer differs depending on the person, put 120.db is decently loud so definitely might be a good idea to turn it down, there is a reason airport workers encountered with just about 120dbs from jet engines are required to wear ear protection

  5. extended exposure to volumes over 120bd would result in hearing loss.

you might wanna check these sites about it.

i have a pretty simple system in my '96 mitsubishi montero.

rf 160x4 trans ana amp rated at 20x4 running 5.25" component set up front and a single rf 10" sub in a sealed box and the highest i hit was 121.26db.

it started out as an experiment on whether a simple low power system would sound as balanced as a moderately powered system. the system used to have a separate rf punch 100x2 trans ana amp rated at 200x1 bridged at 4 ohms powering the sub and the 20x4 was used to power the fronts and rear fill.

guess what?!? sounds really good. not that loud compared to before but great for everyday listening.

PRACTICE SAFE SOUND AND SAVE YOUR HEARING.
