  1. don't let *anyone* else use your drawer ever.  This s/b a policy of your employer.  If not, they need to make it one pronto and if they don't you need to report them to your state's labor board asap.

Also, if you do not know how to make change in your head, *always* let the register/computer calculate the change for you and pay careful attention to the bills and change you are returning to customers.

    Good luck!

  2. ur not supposed to be -$2 or +$2 ur supposed to be fired from that so someone has been cutting u breaks.. just slow down and count the money correctly when it comes thru ur hands, and u will be fine.

  3. First count your draw before you handle it. Then ring people out as you normally would. BUT double count your funds going in and out. Say it out loud. Your total is 18.75 You gave me 20.00 your change is 1.75. then count it back as well. quarter is 19 and a dollar is 20. then count down your drawer. (if the manager has to do it make sure you are there with them and DOUBLE COUNT) if you get told you can not count your draw at the begining and end of your shift something is up and you need to find another job. Also do not let anyone in your drawer and if your manager has to use it WATCH them. I was being trained for managment at a job and the head manager went in my drawer and it was short 30 bucks (which never happened to me) She said she found my mistake and it was ok. A couple days later 50 bucks was missing from the floor safe (i was starting my shift and had to count it) she said she corrected the problem but never did. She was stealing money and lottery and blaming new hires, I went a month found this out and was not getting paid I quit and contacted the labor department they contacted the head office I got paid and she was fired a month later after being watched stealing.

  4. count your own money first. The people that report the amount to you is either stealing and blaming you are counting wrong. be careful when you give people change that you don't have an extra dollar in there. might slow you down but better safe then sorry

  5. Make sure to give customers the correct amount.

When leaving for lunch, and or breaks, leave the till in a safe place, where no one can take any thing from it.

When leaving for the day, count your till out.  Take note of  what you counted, just in case someone is stealing from it when you leave.

    Good luck.

  6. 1) Count the money in your register when you get it.

    2) Don't let anyone use your register while you're using it.

    3) Learn to count out the change you give back, using the amount given to you. "You gave me twenty dollars and your total is six seventy-three. Here is seventy-four, seventy-five, seven dollars, eight, nine, ten, and ten makes twenty." You should have given two pennies, one quarter, three one dollar bills, and a ten dollar bill (two fives if out of tens) as change.

Do these three things and your cash drawer will ALWAYS balance.
