  1. IT won't go to Waste!!! it will be a treasure for the baby!! After all his cousin made it and it is her first!!!

Besides, who will know except you!! Most people do not have a clue as to what it should have looked like. This is the way you made it so it is perfect!!!!

Babies wear out their first blankets at an alarming rate. Really!! because they get washed and dried a lot.

Just make sure all the yarn ends are totally secured so they don't come undone!!!

Congratulations on a New Cousin and at finishing your first Crochet Project!!! That definitely is worth taking a picture of - both together!!! for your scrap book and his!!!

Now you can start one for his first Birthday???

second blankets and twohundredth blankets are not nearly as special as the first one!!

  2. there is nothing you can do if you are short or over stitches count. now having said that you might try to block it using T pins to help mold or shape the blanket better     you did not say excately where you miss counted   in the rows or in the edgings   yes you can sew on lace using wide lace as oliviea suggested.. try blocking first using a very mild soap and do not rub just squezze  then lay out flat and gently stretch you  work evenly.  you may have to adjust as it dries   good luck

  3. the border will help, but dont cut it so it's always like, an inch over where the stiching ended. try to just make a big like, 2 inch border (example) and sow that on over the edges, only so it's straight, so then it'll look like the boarder is straight. u know? i hope that this makes sense. sorry if it doesnt. so do that, and the uneven edges will just make it even more home-made looking. also, maybe stitch his or her name in the quilt to make it more personalized, and to draw the eyes from the edges. congrats on you new cousin! i hope i helped!

  4. I agree with Sue....it is the thought that counts, and it will keep baby Jack just as snug as a "perfect" blanket.

  5. Hello,

The lace may work but you may find it difficult to wash as the blanket & lace are different materials aren't they?

I would start at one corner and do one row of what I call dc (I'm from the UK) if you are from the USA it's your sc, all the way round the blanket, going in each stitch but making sure that there are the same number of stitches on each of the opposite sides, at the corners do 2 dc, 2ch, 2 dc in the same corner st, then continue all around back to where you started, you can then do a border on these stitches, either a shell or straight rows of our tr [dc] making sure that you do at least 3dc, 2 ch, 3 dc in each of the 2ch spaces in each corner.
