Big crowd expected at LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012
Current world number one Yani Tseng is ready to defend her title at the LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012, but she is confident that this edition will see a huge crowd once again—something
she desperately needs to fire herself up.
Sharing her thoughts during her pre-tournament interview at Incheon, South Korea where the LPGA Hana Bank Championship is set to kick off from October 19, Tseng said that she can still remember
the vibe at the same course last year.
Hoping for a big crowd is not surprising, as the top-ranked prodigy seeks to snap out of her lacklustre form that has put her under scrutiny in the recent past.
“I know last year it was a big crowd and I was with Na Yeon and I had lots of fun. So we're looking for a big crowd again this year,” the defending champion said.
It was a rousing reception at the last edition of LPGA Hana Bank Championship, which played a big role in Tseng’s triumph, and that is why Tseng has expressed her hope that she is going to
experience the same support this week.
Observers pointed out that crowd support was crucial in the last LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) event, with the South Korean fans appreciating Tseng, even thought she defeated
local Na Yeon Choi who also enjoyed a massive support from the spectators.
In addition to crowd support, course condition is also an important factor, as Tseng knows the holes well.
Last year, Tseng found it difficult to judge the ball well on some of the tricky holes, but overall, she made balanced strokes on the greens.
The Taiwanese star said that she is still as confident as she was last year, as she is sure the course will not offer a serious challenge to her.
“I don't feel any more that it's tougher, like there are some holes I can try to make birdie. I just want to hit on the fairway and give more chances to hit on the green and make some more
birdies. I think I can make lots of birdies on this golf course,” said the LPGA giant who is being regarded as the hot favourite for the LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012.
