okay i need a new lax head and it comes down to the stx proton+ or the stx proton. i've got money for both i just need to know which one i should purchase.

Go with the proton+. It is cheap and a decent head. I prefer it over the proton and say this from experience. A good alternative is the Brine E3 for the same amount. But go with that or the proton+. Good Luck.
