Ok so theres is a math test I have and I just cant figure it out can someone please help!! Thank you so much!!! =]

1. -4_____-5 Which one < > or =

2. -2_____ 0 Which one < > or =

3. |-7| ______ |7| Which one < > or =

Numbers 4 - 9 are my answer correct?

4. -5 + 9 = 4

5. -6 + (-3) = -9

6.-7 - (-4) = -11

7.-17 - 12 = -29

8.-3 * (-31) = -34

9. 84 / (-12) = 72

and last but not least?

10. The pages of a book are numbered from 1 to 128. How many page numbers contain the digit 6?

    It will help you to make a number line for the first three. =]

    -7 - (-4) does not equal -11. Two negatives make a positive, so then it would be written like this:

    -7 + 4 = ?

    Answer is -3.

    8.

    -3 * (-31) is not -34. Multiplying two negatives make a positive. And also, you added in this problem, when the * means multiply (unless you typed it wrong lol.)

    Answer is 93.

    9.

    84/(-12) is not 72. When dividing a negative and a positive, the answer is negative (same goes for multiplying). Also, the / means divide.

    Answer: -7.

    The rest are correct :D.

    10. 21 pages. I divided 128 by 6 and got 21.

    and the narrower means less than.

    Think of the Numbers on a line  with 0 your neutral point if you get confused which is less or greater.

    If 8 is supposed to be -3-(-31)=-34 it is right, but you have -3*(-31)

    so -3* (-31) = 93

    9. wrong - it is the same as in 8. but here we have division instead of multiplication. Use the same rules:

    84/ (-12)= -7

    10. Here you just count the pages:

    The first one with the digit 6 is page 6, then 16, then 26, 36, 46, 56, then here is the tricky part - all pages from 60 to 69 contain the digit 6. then we have 76, 86, 96, 106, 116 and 126. Then we count the pages we&#039;ve listed and we get 22.

    So

    a - (-b) means a + b!  because the FIRST minus sends us LEFT on the number line but the SECOND MINUS forces us to reverse and go RIGHT on the number line

    RULES for SIGNED NUMBERS

    NEGATIVE x NEGATIVE = POSITIVE  

    NEGATIVE /  NEGATIVE = POSITIVE

    POSITIVE x POSITIVE = POSITIVE

    POSITIVE /  POSITIVE = POSITIVE

    NEGATIVE x POSITIVE = NEGATIVE

    NEGATIVE /  POSITIVE = NEGATIVE

    POSITIVE x NEGATIVE = NEGATIVE

    POSITIVE /  NEGATIVE = NEGATIVE

    Process:

    (1) Do the math but ignore the signs (for now)

    (2) Look at the chart above and figure out what the FINAL sign must be

    (3) Have more than 2 signs?  Work through them in PAIRS until you&#039;ve resolved them all.

    Check Problem #8 and #9 - both calculations and signs need attention

    Here&#039;s the logic:

    51-60 - TWO (why????) &#039;cuz there&#039;s 56 AND 60
