  1. i would get the hifonics 1200 Brutus. the 1600 will mess them up after time because you'll be over powering them but 400 watts.

at 1 ohm your using all 1600 watts and you can wire it any lower than that because you'll be getting less than a 1000 watts. and you want more than 1000 but the hifonics is all pure bass and raw power! so don't think if you over power it by that much it will be ok it will damage the speakers.

i had that exact thing hooked up just a different cap and i had a separate battery and it just mess the sub up they still work because kicker makes really strong speakers. but i could hear the distortion. the 1200 is what you want. you should also think about getting a battery depending on how strong your current one is and if you have a alot of other stuff hooked off of it.

  2. Its a good set up...not to crazy about the subs though....and the amp as well....I think JL audio subs would be great in that 3 speakers configuration. Not sure which model JL's,but they have the subs that are especially designed for a triple set up.Plus JL audio sound really nice with all types of music.

ADDITION:George WTF are you talking about? You mentioned I was a JL fan???You need to read all my answers...I have never recommended JL audio....I only reccomended JL for the triple set up because they have the 6 ohm set up and they are a better speaker than the CVRs and as far as Hifonics...THEY SUCK!!I dont care if they are CEA-compliant...They are nothing like they used to be in the old days...there are way better amps out there..One that you always recommend I agree  is a better amp.(elemental designs)and as far as max and RMS ratings...though alot of companies USED to rate the speakers half of the max power...pioneer is one of the worst to way over exaggerate the max just to real the customer in....Most of the cheaper companies do this. And as far as my rule of thumb(another question)...this is from experience. If you cannot supply the speakers RMS power, then you dont want to give it any less than half of its rating.Example if its 100 watts rms then no less than 50 watts.Yes I know you can run less, but from my experience, midrange and highs will sound like poo when you dont supply them with enough power.Mostly because people will clip the amp trying to achieve louder volumes. No need to be rude man.Personally I dont like hardly ANY mainstream audio. But I have had experience with them in the past...Ive move up to high end car audio.

  3. MaxMays I say it again pro installer for 6 years, and I am the pope.

Spankyspa, you are nothing but a JL fanboy, there is way better out there than JL. JL is a thing of the past. RE will eat anything alive that JL produces.

The amp is a great amp, produces clean signal power and is CEA-2006 compliant. The capacitor is not really needed as it is a waste of money and an extra drain on your electrical system. The box is a great price, kind of hard to pass up. As for the subs, you can do better than those. But there will be 3 of them, so why not. But for 3 4OHM subs your actually looking at 0.67 OHM's and 2.67 OHM's. I would opt for the 0.67 OHM's as you will get less resistance, that amp is not stable with less than a 1 OHM load so you might want to think about going with the 2.67 OHM load. Here is a wiring chart for different amounts of subs start with 2 and 4 OHM voice coils. http://www.edesignaudio.com/wiring.php
