Question:

Bigger flop considering the money factor? Barry Zito, or A-Rod?

For me it seems to be Zito considering he is a pitcher and he only plays very so often.

But A-Rod has been so not clutch this season that its hard to choose. Especially remembering that A-Rod is getting payed twice as much as Zito (not a year, but total)

What do you think?

  1. ZITO! A-rod hit 54 home runs last year. A-rod has been bad in the clutch but Zito started out 6-0 and he has a slow fastball and his curve isn't the best around, even if it used to be. I don't think they should of given him such a long contract but he probably will beat the all time home run record and zito doesn't look like he will break any records. I think Zito should of went back to the A's because he was good there. So anyway, I say Zito

  2. Your answer is "Zito" by a mile, and as a Nat's fan, I can say WE DON'T WANT THE GUY.  The Giants better just suck it up and be prepared to eat the rest of that contract; one way, or another....

  3. zito, even though a-rod cant hit his way out of a paper bag in october, he still will one day be one of if not the best hitter of all time. in a few years he will break bonds' hr mark. zito hasnt really done anything since he got that contract from SF.

  4. If Zito didn't make all that money then he would have already been sent to the bullpen and possibly to the minors or the Nationals for players to be named later.

  5. In 2 years, we could probably answer this better, but as it stands now, Zito is because he just doesn't seem to be able to do anything, while A-Rod does still produce in non-pressure situations.

  6. Well when you have to play 162 games a year that takes a toll on you; A-Rod is fine. Barry Zito is the prick. I think there is something physically Wrong with him, he changed his arm slot over the years, thats why his 12-6 curve ball don't have that hook no more it just hangs. A-Rod he is a cocky b*****d if he just pay attention to the game and situtation then he might be the hero every one wants ( his marriage,  Madonna c**p, etc).

  7. Rodriguez is not a flop, never will be.... and Flop is whats going to define Zitos career(although i wish it could have been different)

  8. Mr Madonna A-Rod of course. This year he only has 2 RBI's in the 8th & 9th inning. What do you want for 26-27 mil a year ? You wanna win too!  A-Rod is A-Mistake!

  9. Definitely Zito. A-Rod may not be clutch, but he produces. Zito hasn't done squat for SF and like you said, he only plays every so often.

BTW, I love your avatar (same dude I use).

  10. Zito

  11. I say Zito. But keep in mind the Giants did not sign Jason Schmidt for about 15 mil a year and he has pitched 6 games the last 2 years. At least Zito plays for his money.

  12. The answer is clear-cut, and it is definitely Zito. A-Rod, regardless of this season, and his playoff problems since Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS, produces. He had one of the best all-around seasons in the history of the game in 2007. He sells countless tickets for the Yankees, not to mention all the other money he makes for the team. He is well-worth what he gets paid. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Zito.

  13. OMG, Barry Zito. A Rod, for all his faults, and there are many, at least puts up numbers. Zito is really a $15 million dollar a year number 3-4 starter. I think the only good thing for baseball is that Scott Boras has finally been exposed and no longer will clubs succumb to all his demands. Now this is bad news for Mark Texiara's next contract, and I have nothing against Zito, but it's about time that this jerk Boras got stopped.

  14. Barry Zito. Isn't he like 2-16?
