The tallest breed of dog is an Irish Wolfhound, they can stand more that 34 inches and the shoulders. The heaviest breed of dog is a Saint Bernard. They can weigh up to 200 pounds and not be considered overweight, while Mastiffs weigh up to 190 pounds. Neapolitan Mastiffs can only weigh up to 150 pounds for males and 110 for females so they are definitely not the largest breed. The tallest dog on record is Gibson a Great Dane who is 42 inches at the shoulder.

This photo which some people think is true is actually a hoax, Neapolitan Mastiffs do not get this large at all.

there is no term "Biggest dog" in the dog world "Biggest" is an abstract term. in other words we don't use "big" to accurately describe a dog. dogs are categorized based on weight i.e heaviest dog, or height i.e. tallest dog or bone mass/thickness i.e most massive dog. also the tallest dog in world record is a Harlequin great dane but he is not the "average size for a dane. some mastiff can get up to 250 pounds but again there are alot of dogs out there who are above average don't expect every dog to be like that. so back to your question, if you are saying "big" as in weight then saint bernard but if you mean "big" as in mass then its the english Mastiff ( which also is the only true Mastiff, the other mastiffs are not really mastiffs at all.)
