Biggest changes you have seen in your baby this summer?

I can't believe it's the same child! Bradley is 14 months now and he runs everywhere. I would have to say the biggest change is the fact that he tells us what he wants now. When he's thirsty he says "milk" when he's hungry he says "cracker" and when he wants to go outside he says "side". It's strange as a first time mom to have your child start to actually tell you their needs. He also says yes and no and knows the difference. So when I ask him if he wants something he will tell me yes or no. I asked him last night while he was playing on his slide if he was ready to come in and take a bath, his response "no" and he rounded the corner of the house with a handful of sticks to make sure I didn't grab him and force him in the house. At the beginning of the summer he was learning to walk and didn't talk!

So how about your baby? Biggest change this summer?

  1. My son is 2.5 and this summer he stopped wanting to ride in strollers and carts and stop wanting to sit in a high chair. He now walks perfectly beside me so independently everywhere we go. It's so cute.

  2. He's HUGE!

Through April and part of May, he wasn't gaining weight.  In fact, there was even a point that he was losing weight, and I was a mess.  I worked with an IBCLC, who taught me to beef him up a bit, and he's been growing like a weed ever since.  He has more than doubled his size since the beginning of summer.

    And the mobility...

Remember the days when you could set your baby down, and know that if you walked away for a few minutes, they would be in the same place when you returned?  Those days are long gone here.

  3. Aaron has went from rolling over and sitting up, to crawling and trying to stand. He is currently cruising all over the house, he crawls so fast! He can pull himself up and onto his knees, but can't get any farther than that. I can't imagine when he starts walking, he's already into anything and everything! He has grown and changed so much in just a few months!

  4. So many things.  She has went from a baby to a human with a personality.  She has likes/dislikes and wants.  She has become mobile and just does new things daily.  It is amazing how they change.

  5. Ian has changed sooo much! He's about to be a year old (2 weeks to go)!! Over the summer he's started saying more words and understanding more..I feel like we can have a mini conversation that only we understand lol...he's crawling, cruising, feeding himself, trying to help (brings us things when we ask..takes off his diaper at changing time 50% of the time)..he understands no...he's trying to walk...he claps...he laughs when something is funny..waves..gives kisses..he's like an entirely new child just over summer!!!!

  6. Aaron was 4 months old at the beginning of summer.  I could put him down anywhere and when I came back, there he would be.  I usually couldn't leave him for long with his toys because he wasn't very good at entertaining himself.  Now, I can plop him down in the family room and he will happily roll and practice crawling all over the room.  He is "real" person now.  His needs are turning into wants, it is an amazing time for him, and us as well watching him grow and mature.  I think it is the biggest change in that short of a time I will ever see in my boy.

  7. My daughter, 17 months old is also starting to communicate better. NO has always been her favorite word ;) but just just past weekend she got my shoes and said "here you go" then ran and got her shoes and said "duck duck", she wanted to go to the park and see the ducks, how could I resist that? We of-course went to see the ducks and when we were leaving she said "bye bye ducks" oh, my heart melted.

  8. He's mobile and into everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the beginning of the summer, he was barely rolling.  Now he's the super crawling baby that can go from the living room to the kitchen and attempt to go up the stairs in 1 minute flat.

    LOL
