  1. The more common by far is 3/8". This is found on the vast majority of BMX. 14mm is larger and heavier duty. It would be a simple matter to measure the axle... if it ain't 3/8", its 14mm.

  2. 14mm and or 3/8" refers to the dropouts and axle size for the front wheel that you will be using. 14mm is thicker and stronger than 3/8" and is commonly used for street bikes. 3/8" is thinner and thereby lighter and commonly used for racing bikes. If you plan on installing axle pegs then you should have 14mm axles, they are stronger and safer.

Fork size is determined by a few combinations, wheel size, axle dropout size, and fork or head tube diameter. Your frame will have been made for a 1" or a 1-1/8" headset. the most common is 1-1/8" you should measure the old fork tube.

when you order your new fork you will need a headset, stem and wheels to match the size you will be using. I suggest you do a little more reasearch about the other components you need before ordering your fork.

    I hope this helps
