Bike computer confusion?

my bike computer asks me for the wheel size or w/e they give me: 16'' 18'' 20'' 22'' 24'' 26'' 700c 27'' [205] and on my bike it says 700c and its a 26'' bike, which do i put in?

  1. To be truly accurate, you should measure your wheel circumference. Most bike computers will allow you to enter a number rather than choose from a list.

    Put a mark on the ground and on the tire. Line them up. Roll the tire forward until the mark comes all the way around to the ground. Mark the spot then measure the distance along the ground. That's your wheel circumference.


  2. Your bike computer asking for the wheel size, i.e. the wheel / rim / tire size...

    Look at the tires side wall... it should show the tire size...

    Alternatively II:

    If MTB, normally 26", if racing / road bike then 700c, hybrid bike depends, can be either...

    Alternative III:

    If Knobby tires... usually 26" on a MTB, but if semi-slick (smooth type) depends... some 26" can come in city / semi-slick tire for road use... and all 700c are smooth type.

  3. No confusion. The size of you bike means nothing. The wheel diameter means everything. Why would you think otherwise?
