  1. For your size, pennyfarthing

  2. What style of bike and what price range?

You will find that all the big sizes of bikes get sold out really quick when the new year models launch.

At this time of year you will find that most companies have sold out and that they are expecting 2009 stock in september ish.

Just a case of finding a decent bike shop who would have your size.....!

"Specialized" make mtb's up to 23"

"Trek" make road bikes up to 63cm

  3. Penny Farthing

  4. At your height CUSTOM is the only way to go.  I'm 6'4'' and fit into a 61cm road bike, and thats just about as big as they come before you go into the custom realm.

  5. i thought bikes were one size fits all!?

  6. First, I'm 6'7", so hello, fellow tall cyclist.

    Road bike or mountain bike?

I'm thinking Raleigh and Fuji both make some 62cm frame road bikes.  The problem for you and I is that the top tube can be rather short.  You can fix that to a degree by having your shop swap out the stem.

As to mountain bikes, I ride a 21" Gary Fisher Paragon.  The Cobia has the same frame with different components and costs much less.

My road bike is a Zinn, which is a custom.  I don't know that you want to go that route yet.  It's a bit dear (yet worth every penny to me. :-)

EDIT:  Check that Roberts link.  The prices look reasonable.  The custom process takes a while, so have patience.  From initials measurements to final bike, mine took about four months.  However, all I have done to the bike since then in to change one spacer on the headset, raise the seat 3mm.  That's how good the fit is.

    Good luck to you.

    Edit:

I find it interesting that three of us who suggested a fitting and a possible custom got thumbs down from someone.  And the person who suggests the less-than-pragmatic Penny Farthing gets a thumbs up.  Sheesh.

  7. a 20" frame bike will do just upgrade the stem length and get a high seat pole  go to any decent bike shop they will be more than happy to help you good luck let me no what you decide to get.

  8. any good cycle shop will be able to build a bike that fits you properly

You have to sit on an adjustable  frame contraption and they take measurements from it to build a the cycle

  9. http://www.robertscycles.com/about_rober...

They will make one for you!!

  10. Try Trek.  I am 6' 2" woman.  They have various size frames and styles.
