My bike handlebars keep shifting so one end is longer than the other. it is obviously a bit loose. i went to the pool and when i got out of the fenced area to get my bike, it was on the ground. The handlebars were on the right side while the wheel was still in the middle. i realigned it in a crude way. but is there a more permanent way of realigning and then fixing the handlebars?

  1. When it is straight and aligned with the wheel take a wrench and tighten the bolt near the bottom of the handlebars where it attaches to the frame.

  2. Hard to say ..., first check all the s***w on stem if is tight . If this not fix problem visit bike-shop , there is possibility that stem by size do not match handlebars . It is really danger to ride bike in this condition .

  3. To me, it sounds like the handlebar is loose around the stem, which should hold the handlebar right in the center. Look for bolts or allen screws, which require a small hex wrench, and try to tighten the stem.

Loose handlebars could be dangerous, so take it to a shop if you can't fix it yourself.
