i live in riverside california and i am sixteen bout to turn seventeen wat do i have to do to get my motorcycle license be specific please and thank you

  1. Well i live in fla. and I have mine. I bet the law is close to the same. For anyone under 21 you have to take a 16 hour course sponsered by the Motorcycle saftey foundation. then take you certificate to the DMV and get a new card.

If you go to any motorcycle dealer/apparel dealer, they almost always have a pamphlet distributed by the MSF(Motorcycle safety foundation), or go to http://www.msf-usa.org/ and click on California for classes near you. This program is endorsed by CHP, and you also can get a discount on insurance. I was riding for 15 years when I moved out to CA from NY. CA did not honor my NY motorcycle endorsement, so I had to start from scratch, which included taking the class, after which I learned everything I was doing wrong for 15 years. It is the best 200-300 dollars you will ever spend on riding.
