Bike outer tube sizing

okay, i need to buy 2 inner and outer tubes for my mountain bike, the inner tubes' sizes are equal and say 26 x 1.75. okay, i know what to buy for inner tubes, for outer tubes, do i buy the same sizing? or do i have to size up?

  1. Look at the tires you have now. The size can be found on the sidewall. Buy the same size. Then buy tubes that are designed to fit that size tire. Not a big deal. People in a bike shop will be glad to help you. They're selling you something!

    Do you possibly mean a TIRE?

    EDIT: Yes tire and tube same size. You must have a tire that fits your rim.
