Bikes on trains Caen to Bordeaux?

2 of us want to get from Caen to Bordeaux by train with our bikes. We can book passenger tickets in advance from the UK, but don't seem to be able to book for bikes. Is it possible to use TGV for part of the way? Rennes to Bordeaux perhaps? Has anyone managed to book from the UK in advance?

Don't think you can take bikes by TGV due to limited space. SNCF sites are never very much use.  Have a word with Rail Europe they will probably be able to help you.
