Bikini shaving answers? ?

Hi,

Embarrassing situation...After shaving a...certain area...The pelvic/bikini area only is a bit irritated. It is red and some of the hair follicles (it looks like the follicles) are forming pimple-ish things. Because the job was done 2 days ago, I find it hard to believe that they are infected. I have been putting anti-biotic ointment on the area twice a day and it hasn't appeared to help.

PLEASE HELP!!!

be careful with using neosproin.. it can give you a super itchy rash that looks like blisters.  passion parties has something that is called cuchie cream.. it relieves the irritation after shaving.... the skin on my legs gets irritated much the same way- i use plain ol aloe vera after a shave to cut back on irritation- works wonders!.. also seek out the hypoallergenic shave creams or gels instead of soap or the regular stuff and lean towards things for sensitive skin.

well i started doing that when i was young and always had that problem, and it itched really bad too, so i can't do it anymore, i just use beard trimmers and trim it away to almost nothing, it's not stubbly and it doesn't itch,hurt or turn red, so maybe try that, plus the more you shave with a razor the more your hairline will spread before you know it it will be big and you will have wished you never shaved it

Don't worry, it's only razor burn.  The trouble is, this is probably gonna happen everytime you shave there.  So, use special shaving cream for down there, get a wax, or use some nair (if you can use that down there, read the instrctions first b/c idk).

Probably not infected, most likely ingrown hairs. Exfoliate when you shower that should help. They make some creams for 'shaving bumps' that you should be able to get at local pharmacy.

exfoliate! , get rid of the dead skin so that the hair can grow without getting stuck under the dead skin. you're getting ingrown hairs... you can use sugar to help exfoliate... u may also what to not put any pants on after you shave for a couple of hours... use lots of vitamin e!  you're skin will start to get use to being shaved after a while.

it is probably just razor burn. its not a big deal it will go away dont worry. but of it doesnt then you should go see your doctor

They are razor bumps.

Exfoliate the area until the bumps go away, even though the hair will grow back.

Next time, follow these steps before/after shaving.

1. take a painkiller. It will decrease inflammation before shaving.

2. Use shaving cream and a super sharp razor. The sharper the razor, the less irritation you will have.

3. Use Bikini Zone right afterwards, and the next day too. It will get rid of the bumps and keep them form coming.

4. Put deodorant (just stick deodorant) on it. This sounds weird, but it REALLY works.

Sounds like ingrown hairs...those things itch and hurt like h**l! Try putting neosporin on it. And next time get some Nair Bikini Cream for Sensitive Skin.....it is excellent! It prevents itching and ingrown hairs.

Neosporin - works great for me not just the regular antibiotic ointment it has to be neosporin the chemical compound is slightly different.  I keep myself very clean down there so ive tried almost everything what ive also found is cortaid works great it gets rid of the redness and itch when it grows in.  

Based on your statements I think you used a dull razor - when i wax or use a brand new intuition razor I never have that problem but if the razor has been used even just once before I get a mild bump irritation.

you have ingrown hairs!..theyll go away eventually.wait a week to shave again, exfoliate with a scrub before you shave rinse with warm water and shave witha a fresh blade try shick quatro or venus embrace they have  4-5 blades which will give you a closer shave. good luck next time.
