how do you know when you are ready for a bikini wax..and have enough hair...

  1. Do you swim often? You don't really need one unless you just wear your bikini without any shorts. And also you can get one as soon as you start go get hairs in the area.


  2. You're ready once you have about 1/4" of hair growing in your bikini area and it's not so sparse that the wax will be pulling more skin than hair.

  3. The ideal length for hair to be for a bikini wax is 1/4 inch long (a bit more than 1/2 centimetre); if it's shorter than this, it's probably too short to be removed effectively. You can have the waxing done if your hair is longer, but long hair usually snaps off instead of being pulled out by the root. I would recommend that you trim the hair if it's longer than 1/2 inch (1 centimetre). As for minimising the pain of the waxing, the best time to have it done is one to two weeks after the last day of your period. Don't have the waxing done right before or during your period; your bikini area will be more sensitive, so it will hurt more. And most beauty salons won't perform a bikini wax on menstruating women due to sanitation concerns.
