Bill Walton knows the game of b-ball but I think he should of said atleast the top two teams of USA all-time b-ball team behind the first dreamteam so whose before this year's team other then the original Dreamtime with Jordan/Bird/Wilkins/Malone/Stockton/Mull... and other stars so I rank this year's as the best after them hands down so whats your take on these comments?

  1. They would be number 3 at best theres no way they are better than the 92 or 96 team

  2. I really feel that this team is better than Dream Team II.  The competition internationally is the best its ever been in the history of basketball and Team USA now, is blowing them out by almost the same margin of victory that Dream Team 2 did to not as talented players.  I think there no 2 behind Dream Team 1

  3. You could write a very long book on all the crazy things Bill walton says.

His most famous one to me is When the Bulls were in the Finals with the Lakers.   He said "Jordan will never win a championship".  That was funny.  Don't you think. His tongue is directly tied to his brain so I would not weigh his opinion to heavily .

  4. Our previous teams did not have to practice together for three years in order to win the gold medal.  They just went over there (wherever "there" was) and did it.

So even if the rest of the world is getting better, we're not advancing much at all if we have to plan this thing out for three years.

The 1956 team, featuring Bill Russell, won by more than 55 points/game.  Two HOFers on that team (Russell and KC Jones).

The 1960 team featured Jerry West, Oscar Robertson and Jerry Lucas (all top 50 NBA players) and HOFer Walt Bellamy.

The 1984 team featured Jordan, Ewing, Chris Mullin and Sam Perkins.

That was the last great team of college players.

The 1992 team was, of course, the greatest team ever.

The 1996 team had Barkley, Grant Hill, Karl Malone, Reggie Miller, Olajuwon, Shaq, Gary Payton, Pippen, David Robinson and John Stockton.

The 2000 team had Ray Allen, Vince Carter, Jason Kidd, Tim Hardaway, Kevin Garnett, Alonzo Mourning and Gary Payton, among others.

This years team is excellent, but again, they had to practice for three years to get to this point.  The previous teams of pros were just thrown together and told to go get the gold...and they did.  This year's team could never have won it that way.
