  1. No--but there are soelimitations for minors.  A school can restrict some speech.  For example there was a recent case in which the curts upheld a school's right to prohibit a student from wearing a t-shirt that advocated smoking pot.

The other is that a parent can impose certain restrictions, of course.

HOWEVER--these are very specific limits. Let's say a teen attended a political protest (outside of school hours) and spoke out on some issue that was critical of political leaders. The government can't tell him/her to be quiet. The most tha tculd happen is getting punished if the teen went to the protest without his parents permission--but that would be up to the parents.  The state has no authority to restrict that teen's speech insuch a context, any more than it can restrict anyone else's speech.

    Hope that helps.

  2. No.

Back a long time ago, (June 15, 1215) a group of men got together and informed the government that rights were something [humans] were born with; that rights came to men (that is, humans) from God.

A few years later, (July 4, 1776) another group of men wrote a declaration to inform the world that they understood rights to be inalienable; that [humans] were born with these rights and that governments were created with the consent of the governed to uphold these rights.

Our present government seems to have forgotten the lessons of the past and now proclaims itself lord and master over us and says (for example) that while we may be born with the aforementioned rights, we lose them upon our first gulp of air, then these rights are restored to us upon arriving at the arbitrary age(s) of 18 and 21. Although, of course, we cannot assert these rights in any manner other than those allowed by the present government...

The bottom line in all this (WAY more information than you wanted) is Yes, under current laws you must be 18 to exercise your rights to free speech, but by rights you really shouldn't have to. Of course there's a cost associated with asserting your rights...

  3. You don't have to be 18,  but there are limits to free speech. The best known example is yelling "fire" in a crowded building when there is no fire.  That is illegal because it can cause people to be physically harmed.

Free speech is most often associated with the right to criticize our government without fear of being harassed or arrested.  Under our current administration, there are serious concerns about infringement on this right.

  4. According to ANY Constitution, Free speech is for ALL the people of the land, no matter what you age is.
