Question:

Bill to ban the removal of carpool lanes in California?

I've heard that there is a bill to ban the proposed plans of the awful transportation administration (MTA) idea to take away commuter lanes (because they are too successful) and make them toll roads.

Now, I think it's one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. They are going to spend a lot of money, realize it's a terrible idea, and have to spend more money to undo it. Just like when they took the center lanes of the 10 freeway and make them into carpool lanes. People protested, threw nails on the lanes, and they had to undo it, and promised never to take existing lanes away from a freeway to turn them into carpool again.

Plus its going to increase traffic (fewer carpools) and increase greenhouse emissions (more cars on the road and stuck in traffic.)

Does anyone know what bill that will block this really dumb idea? I want to throw my support behind it and the congress people supporting it.

  1. There is no such bill as yet, as far as I know.

Write a letter to your MTA rep.
