  1. When playing BIH any where on the table, it's not illegal. When playing BIH behind head string it's considered poor sportsmanship but no penalty except maybe a cue broken over your head. (bar rules suck)

  2. It is not illegal.  It can be a very good strategy play, especially if you know the skill level of your opponent.  I've used it a couple times to win matches.  However, in certain regions and especially in bar type atmospheres, it may not be considered good sportsmanship and I've heard stories of fights almost breaking out because of it, so be careful.

  3. Geesh you mean someone really knows the diff between billiards and pool..I'm impressed thumbs up on that one

  4. it depends on the league your playing in and the rules they play by. in the B. C. A. legue it is illegal.

  5. Yes, it is illegal. If you were to somehow drill a giant hole into someone else's carom table, then hit the cue ball into it, you would most certainly be subject to criminal charges.

  6. Please define what you mean my "billiards".

  7. In pocket billiards if you are playing bar rules then most of the time yes you can do it.  However, and I mean a big however depending on the person you are shooting and what you are shooting for it is a good way to lose a few teeth by being severely beaten because it is dirty to play like that and only donkeys do it.  Look into playing ball in hand rules like BCA (world standardized rules)  Its a much better game, and odd to first start playing it, but once you play it you realize its 1000 times better then bar rules.  Good luck, and keep racken em up!

  8. How do you scratch playing Billiards?

Oh you mean pool !! NO but why give the other guy ball in hand???

Bar rules who knows there are thousands of them

  9. Trickshot's answer is absolutely correct.  In league play (like APA/CPA) it is considered a defensive shot and a strategic move and is perfectly legal however in a bar with bar rules I wouldn't do it because it tends to get your opponent very angry and best not to scratch intentionally in that case.
