Can playing Billiards ( Pool) help me improve my putting?

  1. Straight out... NO!  The only thing that will help you putt better is practice, lessons, and some techniques.  Billiards wont help you do anything, as the pool table is straight, and the Majority of putts are not straight.


  2. I can't see how it would... billiards tables are flat, and you don't hit one golf ball into another one.  That said, if thinking of lining up a putt brings up images of lining up a billiards shot -- and that works for you -- then, yes!

    Putting has a lot of mental aspects, and visualization is a big part of it.

  3. Well I can see why you think that, I mean you are hitting a white ball.  Come on, what do the two have anything to do with one another.

  4. I have to agree with the first two postings, however if you are on a totally flat green and within 7 feet, I can kind of see what you are talking about. You have to remember you are putting with a putter, not a pool cue so your point of view is way different. Also, with pool you are hitting the cue ball into other balls, totally different from golf, where you want to hit the white ball into the hole. Hope this helps.
