Billis Renegade storms to victory in Crayford Bookmakers Stayers Hurdle
Billis Renegade did not let his fans down and performed magnificently in the Crayford Bookmakers Stayers Hurdle, held at Crayford on Saturday, April 28, 2012.
The 540 metres event was one of the important events on the day. In pursue of a cash prize worth £150, six fast and furious hounds started running at 20:34 GMT.
Billis Renegade stepped out from the fifth trap with the highest odds of 4 to 7. An early pace helped him put his rivals under tremendous pressure. The fawn dog retained his dominance right through the race, sealing the top place by ½ a length.
Rancey Beauty also did a decent job, saving himself from getting crowded. However, his speed was not good enough to surpass the triumphant hound. As a result, the black dog could not stop J. Foster’s trainee from bagging the winning cheque.
Later in the day, the spectators saw Pennys Chives outsmarting her rivals in the Owners Bonus Series Pups v Seniors Final. The white and black b***h upset the 2-1 favourite, Serial Nuisance, by a length’s margin.
I. Stevens’ trainee started the show from the orange box and despite a bumped run up, she managed to secure the top place. She covered an area of 380 metres in just 24.90 seconds. Serial Nuisance seized the second place by a length’s distance.
Crayford Bookmakers Stakes was dominated by Silverview Spott. The white and black b***h was carrying the second highest odds of 9 to 4 after Fatboyz Pacquiao. The 6-4 betting favourite missed the runner-up place by 4¾ lengths.
The triumphant hound covered 540 metres in 34.67 seconds, beating Airforce Tom by a length’s margin.
Crayford Bookmakers Marathon saw Buglys Billie topping the chart by five and a half lengths. Despite getting crowded twice on the track, the 1-6 favourite made a great effort over 874 metres. The white and black b***h stopped the clock in 59.22 seconds,
pocketing a purse of £175.
Neil's 40th Birthday Doggy Race was another high status race on the day. The 380 metres heat was won by Max Hero, who made it to the winning post in 24.44 seconds.
