Question:

Bills - paperwork? Do I need it for anything?

I do online banking with most of my credit cards etc, and my store cards I always pay off in full at the end of every month.

I seem to have an abundance of paperwork as I'm scared of throwing anything out. Do you think it would be okay to shred everything?

I've recently started a new phone contract, so I'm going to shred all of my old phone bills from before my new term started.

I know that I might have to keep some bank statements etc - how long do you think would be reasonable to keep.

I've also just started working full-time after being a student, and have loads of letters from SAAS. Would I be alright just to keep the yearly statements from them? i.e. telling you what you owe?

  1. bank statements should be kept for at least 7 years due to income tax time you may need them.
