Billy Butler looking to win with Kansas City Royals - MLB News
It looks like Billy Butler is looking to win with the Kansas City Royals as Spring Training is right around the corner.
Butler is a tremendous player that can manage both right and left-field. He was brought into the team in 2004. He made his Major League Baseball debut on May 1, 2007. However, after a dismal performance he was sent down to the Minor League level to perfect
his skills and work on his performance.
His performance is getting better every year. In 2008 his average was .292, in 2009 it is .301 and when he played his last season in 2010, he went up to .318 which is an outstanding average of any player.
Butler said, “Four year contract with the Royal’s is a great challenge for him, he want to make his position in the team as one of the emerging player. He further added that he wanted to go out there to play the game in a real sense and lead by example and
his role doesn’t changes at all.”
According to Butler, “I am not here in the Royals to make money or to have some big deal, I just play for my country and it is my act of patriotism.”
The player has a new contract with the Royals and will be looking to maintain his fitness before Spring Training. He will be hoping to put in a good performance for the Royals during the spring session. The Royals are desperate for a successful season and
are hoping for a spot in the playoffs. The team understands the importance of players like Butler in the line-up.
Spring Training will give a good opportunity to the Royals to try out their new strategies and finalise their rotations. Also it will give some of the younger players on the team some much needed playing time under their belts. The team will be focused on
performing well on the field and get ready for the grueling regular season. Butler is looking to do his part and help the Royals to a successful 2012 regular season.
