Billy Davies: No problems at Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has rubbished rumours that certain players are not happy with the way he is leading the club.
Media circles have published reports that suggest players and club staff are not happy with the amount of time Davies spends away from the club. This suggests friction and a crack in squad harmony.
"When anybody talks about the manager's conduct I am very happy with the conversations I've had with the board. I will not break my contract and talk about those discussions but I am very comfortable with
the conversations I have had," Davis told BBC Radio Nottingham.
Forest is a huge club with huge ambitions. In a sense it is very positive to see the manager coming out so quickly and addressing the media reports as opposed to letting them manifest.
Good initiative
Davies is showing good initiative by being open and honest about the whole situation. It's clear that if anyone at the club has a problem with the boss, then they can approach him to talk about it.
It's also clear that the people who control Davies's contract and future have already raised their concerns and all parties have moved forwards. If there was a serious conflict of interest then something
would have been done during these talks.
The main focus at the club must be on the football. The club is currently lingering in 14th place and needs to push for the top half of the table. Once this happens, negative stories such as this will
disappear.
"It's all about football, it's all about not moving the club forward and a lack of signings over the last number of transfer windows and now people are trying to re-focus on a different agenda [through
questioning his commitment]," he added.
Betting advice
Nottingham Forest will be a very tempting bet to gain promotion to the Premier League. The odds at this time will be long and the best bet for the club looks to be a play-off place. Have a punt on them
pulling it off.
