Bin Qiao ousts Christian Lind Thomsen in Men’s Singles qualifying round - China Masters Update
Men’s Singles expert Bin Qiao played impeccable badminton and moved into the second stage of the qualifying round after casting out Christian Lind Thomsen in Li Ning China Masters on September 11, 2012.
Though, this crucial tie concluded in just two games but Bin still had to sweat hard for 46 minutes to read favourable figures of 21-13 and 21-12.
Meanwhile, the Danish campaigner also earned a lot of admiration for his fighting spirit and he walked tall despite facing an early exit from this Super Series.
Now the Chinese shuttler will swing his arms against the Japanese player Kento Momota and if he succeeds he will proceed to the main rounds of the home event.
Earlier, the local badminton arena was filled to its brim as a huge crowd gathered to support the native shuttler.
Bin Qiao, who was underrated earlier in this event, did not disappoint the spectators and proved his mettle by sealing a straight-set victory.
He set the foundation of his dominance straight away in the beginning as he clinched the first match point with distinction.
He made his intentions clear by prevailing in a couple of uninterrupted rallies after 2-2 and moved into a commanding position with 8-3 margin.
There was an interesting development when Lind Thomsen made swift progress by gathering a few consecutive points and caught his rival at 10-10.
The first half of the set ended with both shuttlers standing close on points table but then Bin Qiao employed all of his brilliance in the game and reinstated his supremacy.
He started the ball rolling with five back-to-back points in the third quarter of the set and then capitalised this momentum to pile up final total of 21-13.
The Chinese shuttler proved himself superior in all departments also in the following game as he smacked his challenger down with a stunning knock.
Lind Thomsen, who was fourth seeded player in the qualification round, strived hard to counter-balance the situation but he could not withstand an intensive attack of his competitor.
He kept on trailing behind until the last shot was played and finally gave up this futile chase after reading 12-21 score on the board.
