We have a bindi eye problem in our backyard. I'm looking for a bindi killer that won't hurt/poison my dogs. Can anyone help, please?

  1. The simplest solution would be to use a non-selective spray herbicide like Round-up. Glyphosate based herbicides have a low toxicity to mammals, but I would still keep the dog off the area for a day or two after spraying. The problem is, the plant is an annual and you need to get it before it spreads it's seeds for next year. It is probably to late for that.

If you want to get rid of it without using chemicals you can manually pull it, or burn it out with a propane weed torch. But again, it would be best to do this in the early spring before the new seeds are out.

  2. What the h**l is that?
