Question:

Binding Size?

So i recently got this sweet deal on a Burton Custom 156, and I bought the Cartel Bindings (Large) to go with it. Here's my problem/question. The bindings are a tad bit to big for the board and they go over the top edge about a 1/4 of an inch on both front and back. I need large sized bindings so my question is, is that a major problem where i need to get a wide board or something that doesnt even need to be worried about.

  1. Having the bindings hanging over the edge will mean that they'll drag into the snow and throw you off.  You need to either get a wider board or rotate the bindings so they're more angled and don't hang over the edge.

  2. your bindings shouldn't extend past your edges, it sounds like you do need to step to a wide board.  it's ok if your heels and toes overhang a bit, that's why so many bindgings now have "gas pedals"  but if you're bindings are overhanging, then when you carve hard, you're feet are going to go right into the snow, and you'll be in for some nasty spills.....i would get a wider board if i were you....
