  1. When I started, we did that all of the time.  Now there is no way I would do it. The shop has a jig to install each model binding and can do it in about 15 minutes. If you do it, the lay out and installation will probably take 3-4 hours. The screws are a special type that need a posidrive bit.

Go to the shop and select the skiis and bindings you want and have the shop install them.  When the shop sells them, the installation is very cheap.

  2. Bindings are screwed and glued onto the ski.  Dont try this your self.  if the binding is not in exactly the right spot, the skis will not preform to thier potential and it can be dangerous.  you risk wrecking expensive equipment.  Bring it to a ski shop where a professional can do it for $30 or $40.  Your old bindings can probably be put on your new skis, just bring them in and tell the ski tech what you want.
