  1. So we can't burn wood, alcohol, dung, methane, goose grease...

  2. not that strict - but we should take the tariff of brizilan ethonly (its 57 cents a gallon and only there to protect rich farmers)

  3. I burn liposuction fat in my Benz.

  4. I agree.  I think we should ONLY allowed bio fuel to be made from "waste oil".  That way, we won't put any pressure on food and have used a "waste product".

The problem is lobbyist in D.C.  I doubt that law will get passed.   However, it might have a chance in certain states.

  5. Unfortunately there just isn't enough used cooking oil to go around.  Also there can be quality issues with biodiesel made from some types of used cooking oils.

As the biofuel industry grows, there is an increasing need to develop high-yielding, low-input feedstocks for biofuels (biodiesel and ethanol) that don't compete with food, don't take up land that could otherwise produce food, and importantly don't require virgin land to be destroyed.  The biodiesel industry is currently obsessed with jatropha, although its 'holy grail' is microalgae (particularly if the CO2 and NOx source for the algae is coal-fired power stations or other high-emitting industries).  For ethanol, the industry is looking at switchgrass and cellulosic substrates (pending development of efficient technologies to turn cellulose and lignocellulose into ethanol).

  6. I don't think a law will be needed before long, we might just have no choice... and if we are going to recycle, lets do it to the optimum advantage.

  7. THAT WOULD BE A GOOD STARTING POINT.
