If so, would this work with other predators which may find bears threatening?

  1. Don't know if it'd scare off other bears, but I bet it'll make the other cows real nervous!

If I had to bet, though, I'd say that in most cases, another bear, being territorial, would move on.

Unless this scent was in his territory to begin with. Then, you may have a problem.

EdIT- Covert wildlife control? Maybe. Not sure why we need that, but maybe. The problems you'd have with your herd, and other animals, (i.e. the farms' dogs, and other herd animals), would seem to outweigh any benefits.

How much milk can you get from a terminally nervous cow?

If a bear is threatening livestock, it can be tranqued and moved, or, in the most extreme cases, simply put down.

Cost of that much bear scent would also seem prohibitive, wouldn't it? I mean, a cow is a d**n big animal!
