Question:

Biodegradable bags: the solution or just another problem?

If we were to replace all plastic bags with biodegradable bags in supermarkets, would we be creating another problem, i.e., using food sources (corn, wheat etc) to make these products? would we be simply taking food off the tables of the poor? is there a way to create biodegradable bags that doesn't infringe upon the global food shortage?

Another question: does anyone know where you can purchase biodegradable bin liners or plastic bags in Sydney? not in bulk.

Thanks!

  1. those bags are a problem we should switch to greenbags instead, theyre even more biodegradable and stronger than biodegradable plastic bags,

and yea, it may cause a whole new problem, we could use the food instead to donate to less wealthier nations like ethiopia and zimbabwe.

i think im some woolworths, you can try and purchase those biodegradable bags, i've rarely seen them.

some chinese shops in eastwood and carlingford will give biodegradable bags, we can just use them to line our bins!
